Coffee with Purpose: Diggers Coffee Company Supporting Pro Patria

Pro Patria Centre (PPC) is excited to share that Diggers Coffee Company (DCC), Wagga and the Riverina’s first Veteran Coffee Company has announced that it will solely support the Pro Patria Centre (PPC) by donating one dollar of every coffee bag sold to support the PPC’s mission to support veterans, first responders and  their families.

Recently Diggers Coffee entered the café market and DCC’s signature coffee “Reveille” is now served at Café Phoenix at the Homebase in Wagga Wagga.

Harry Fitzgibbon Co-Owner of DCC highlighted the important step for the business saying “getting into a café in Wagga and having our coffee served to the local market is a great first step into the market and allows us to grow and increase our support to the Pro Patria Centre, whilst having the local community have a place to come to grab a coffee that has a purpose.”

After visiting the Pro Patria Centre Harry stated “the site and the vision shown, coupled with the plan for what’s to come is truly inspirational and whatever we can do to assist in this important work we realise we need to do as a business.”

Café Phoenix is the first café to launch the DCC Coffee and Katherine McDonell (owner) said how good it is to have a café that supports local Veterans. Katherine said “having a story behind the coffee is unique to Wagga and we hope that by serving Diggers Coffee here we can help to give back to local organisations such as the Pro Patria Centre and having a place for the local Defence community and First Responder families to show their support as well.”

Diggers Coffee Company now hopes to expand throughout the Riverina by having a café in every town serving Diggers Coffee and to have a local roaster set up to complement the busy local delivery service. Co-Owner Nathan Sheather said “growing as we have since launching in January this year, having a local coffee roaster that will hire local ex serving members and Defence families is important to us, it is one of our goals and we hope to have this operational in early 2023. It will allow us to do so much more for the Pro Patria Centre and the local community that has got behind them and give back to this community that has given us so much”.

Jason Frost, Pro Patria Centre Board Member said, “It is exciting to have the support from Diggers Coffee Company, a local Wagga Wagga company, veteran owned and led. Diggers Coffee Company support means everyone who loves a coffee can support us. Thank you to Harry, Nathan and everyone at Diggers Coffee Company. Your support will save lives.”
