Locally-Led Community Trust Supporting Pro Patria Centre

The Pro Patria Property Trust has been established to purchase the Carmelite Monastery and turn it into a facility that will enable the Pro Patria Centre to offer advanced, holistic treatment services for veterans, first responders and their families.

The good news is the Wagga Wagga City Council has approved the application to change the use of the Carmelite Monastery facility to a medical treatment centre. The council also provided a Construction Certificate, which meant renovations could commence. Our builders started immediately. We are very indebted to the patience and support extended to us by Roberson Constructions who will complete stage one of our renovations in a few weeks.

On completion, Dr Jim Read, TMS and Amaranth Foundation will be able to move in and commence their urgently needed support services.

It’s incredible that a group of local business people and service clubs have understood the urgent need to support a veteran treatment centre more so than government or the traditional veteran agencies.

This week the Trust created its official website and Facebook account and will now shortly launch a local and national fund raising campaign to purchase the Monastery. A building and acreage incredibly suited for this purpose.
