Heart 2 Heart Walk

Pro Patria Centre, represented by Board Member Mr Angelo Strano, was delighted to be in Canberra today to support the launch of the Heart 2 Heart Walk. A primary objective for the walk is to seek an update and commitment from the Australian Government to the 2019 Australian Senate Inquiry Report into First Responder Suicide, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Premature Mortality and Report ‘The people behind 000: mental health of our first responders’. 

Since the release of the Inquiry’s report, there has been little or no progress on any of the 14 recommendations. 

Wagga Wagga and the wider Riverina is home to a large number of serving and former first responders. We know there is a need for better support services. Recently we announced Emerge and See are bringing their dedicated support of our first responder community via PPC referral.

The Heart 2 Heart Walk will be making its way through the region on the following dates:

Urana 10-11th September 2023

Lockart - 12th September p 2023

Wagga is 12-16th September 2023 

Junee - 17-19th September 2023 

Gundagai - 20-22nd September 2023
